With a young family and a house to run I knew it wasn’t gone to be easy. I am in the first term of my access course to midwifery and have found it encouraging that I wasn’t alone when I started with there being a large range of both age and previous health care experience. Although I am finding the course challenging I can honestly say that I am really enjoying it.
My biggest fear is that I would feel unsupported being a mature student but this couldn’t be further from the truth. The college offers study advice skills with help for every aspect that the course covers. This has been a huge reassurance for me and I feel confident that I can now work to the highest ability that I can. My hopes as a mature student is to successfully complete my degree and put all of my hard work into practice.
