Ultrasounds during pregnancy

An ultrasound scan during pregnancy provides valuable information

Information about the growing fetus, size, abnormalities and to check how many babies are expected.

For Manita Singh, from Eastern India, she had not had an ultrasound scan during her pregnancy.

She then went into premature labour at 26 weeks and unexpectedly delivered five healthy baby girls, weighing 1.5kg each (3.3lbs) half an hour after the contractions started.

All of the girls remain in the neonatal unit and under close supervision.
